Study on smoking and stress during mothers’ pregnancy

Quit smokingA 40-year study of mother-adult offspring pairs published in Biological Psychiatry in October, 2013 found a direct correlation between smoking and stress during mothers’ pregnancy and daughters’ nicotine use. There was a clear link between stress and smoking during pregnancy with daughters’ nicotine use.  The correlation was not found in adult male children.
