STD Screening
STD Screening
STD screening is an important part of women’s health maintenance. Such testing may include screening for Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Hepatitis, HIV, and Syphilis.
It is important to know that such testing is not necessarily performed during an annual exam or PAP smear and should be requested.
A gynecological consultation is the perfect time to learn of preventative measures, as well as, answer questions of concern.
Some facts – Chlamydia
- Is the most common STD in the US and it is frequently asymptomatic.
- Sexually active females should be tested once a year.
- Chlamydial infections can, among other concerns, cause infertility.
